Information
The lost lead mine of Conesville is part of local folklore. It is said that the Native Americans used lead found ‘lying in sheets’ to make their tomahawks. They would also trade it for tobacco at the local store. The lead mine is believed to be on South Mountain. However, no one in modern history has been able to locate it! Happy Hunting.
